Fashion Gxd Magazine : How did the idea for your business come about?

Answer: I have always wanted to start my own business since I was in middle school. The ideas kept changing but my energy stayed the same. I wanted to be different from others so I decided to sell products that were made by me. Once I learned the basics of the products I wanted to make, I went on to perfect my craft.

Fashion Gxd Magazine : How do you find people to bring into your organization that truly care about the organization the way you do?

Answer: At this time I am a team of one. I just created my business venture in August 2019 and I am still acquiring customers. In the future I look forward to having a team that is as passionate about what I do as I am.

Fashion Gxd Magazine : What three pieces of advice would you give to other children  who want to become entrepreneurs?

Answer: The most important is to never give up! No matter how long it takes you, keep pushing because you won't know the outcome unless you try.

Fashion Gxd Magazine :If you had the chance to start your career over again, what would you do differently?

Answer: If I could start over I would definitely begin earlier than what I did. I kept putting my dreams aside and I feel like I could've been in a different position than I am today.

Fashion Gxd Magazine :What would you say are the top three skills needed to be a successful entrepreneur ?

Answer: The top three skills in my opinion are Passion. Communication, and Dedication. If you aren't passionate and dedicated to what you do it won't work. Communication will always be the key to helping you be successful. Without it you can't interact with your customers in a positive manner.

Fashion Gxd Magazine :What have been some of your failures, and what have you learned from them?

Answer: I have started a few ventures but never to put a lot of effort into the product I created. I wasted money and materials just to give up and stop trying. I've learned that no matter what people say to me or about my business to use it as motivation to do better. Most importantly I learned to never give up on your dreams.

Fashion Gxd Magazine : How many hours do you work a day on average?

Answer: I work a full-time job as well so I can do a 8 or 12hr shift and still come home and prep items for my business. If I do an 8hr shift at work I accomplish more, whether I'm making/designing labels, packaging orders to ship, prepping product, etc. I still come home and do what I can before calling it a night.

Fashion Gxd Magazine :Describe/outline your typical day?

Answer: A typical day consists of me going to work, once my shift is completed I come home and finish last minute business prep. If I am off work or on vacation, then I spend my day creating new soap bars or lip gloss. Once that is done I move on to pouring candles or wax melts and sometimes I sew new bonnets.

Fashion Gxd Magazine : How has being an entrepreneur affected your family life?

Answer: My family supports me 100% in what I do. It makes me happy to do what I do and they love to see me smile. There hasn't been one negative response so far and this makes me go harder for what I want knowing I have a powerful team of support on my side.

Fashion Gxd Magazine :What motivates you?

Answer: My children are my biggest motivators. Without them I have nobody to go hard for. They see me grinding to support them and they show love and respect. Without me working hard I cannot support them. I am their soul provider. Without me they won't have anything and that is what keeps me moving even on nights where I barely get sleep.

Fashion Gxd Magazine: How do you generate new ideas?

Answer: Sometime I ask family what do they think about things I want to do. Other times I think of ideas, try them out, and if I like the outcome it stays. If not I leave it be.

Fashion Gxd Magazine : What sacrifices have you had to make to be a successful entrepreneur?

Answer: I haven't had to make any big sacrifices as of yet. A lot of people quit their jobs to maintain their business full time, I sacrifice my sleep because I have a family to support.

Fashion Gxd Magazine : Where you see yourself and your business in 10 years? 20 years?

Answer: In 10 years I plan to be a large brand that has a good income revenue, a good customer stream, and also having a storefront to showcase my products. It will also make it easier for those shoppers who need to physically see and touch the items they want to purchase. In 20 years, I would like to have multiple store fronts in different locations. I would also like to introduce other business ventures I have been wanting to do as well.
