This week we sat down with Créme De Lee Créme . The amazing entrepreneur on the rising taking the internet by storm. Take a look at our exclusive interview with Créme De Lee Créme below.

How did the idea for your business come about?

Answer: I’ve alway had a love for fashion & style. I learned from my mother & Aunt Helen. I grew up around my aunts seamstress shop. She taught me about quality of fabrics , patterns & details . I sold clothes and accessories online. I also had a boutique for a few years. My husband/ business partner encouraged  me to start / manufacture my own clothing line. He thought I was really good  at it . After hearing him say it over and over again, I created a logo and came up with the name Créme De Lee Créme. It was sorta birthed from there.

  • Fashion Gxd Magazine : How do you find people to bring into your organization that truly care about the organization the way you do?

  • Answer: Fortunately, since we’ve started our brand we’ve been blessed to be able to work , build and travel with our family. I make sure I reach out to people who have helped me in the past, along my fashion career path and I also reach out to people who’s work and ambition I admire.

  • Fashion Gxd Magazine : What three pieces of advice would you give to other children who want to become entrepreneurs?

  • Answer: 1) Have a plan , stick with the plan & believe in the plan despite what anyone tells you. 2) Save your money & live within your means. Don’t use credit unless it’s an investment 3) Unexpected things are going to happen, deal with them and keep it moving .

  • Fashion Gxd Magazine :If you had the chance to start your career over again, what would you do differently?

  • Answer: I would have created my own clothing line earlier. I would have had more faith in myself.

  • Fashion Gxd Magazine :What would you say are the top three skills needed to be a successful entrepreneur ?

  • Answer: The ability to manage money , perseverance, courage and risk taking

  • Fashion Gxd Magazine :What have been some of your failures, and what have you learned from them?

  • Answer: There have been SO MANY over the years. I’ve learned through failure to continue moving forward. I ask myself , what did I learn from each lesson , apply the knowledge that I learn from that specific failure/ incident and continue to move forward.

  • Fashion Gxd Magazine : How many hours do you work a day on average?

  • Answer: 14 +hours a day. 7 days a week right now .

  • Fashion Gxd Magazine :Describe/outline your typical day?

  • Answer: I wake up and pray (immediately), I try to exercise and meditate, get ready for the day. Once I make it to my office/boutique , I check and respond to our Uhaul schedule, emails and text messages.

  • I make sure the boutique is organized and stocked

  • I try to get Uhaul , traveling agents training classes , business webinars and pod cast in for at least a hour a day . . I service our customers through out the day. I usually fill our orders, research different things to enhance our businesses & create designs. I clean the store in the evening. After I’m off for the evening from the boutique, I cook for my husband and clean . I try to get self care in sometime through out the day.

  • Fashion Gxd Magazine : How has being an entrepreneur affected your family life?

  • Answer: I believe that it has made me family stronger. All 7 of my dads siblings were entrepreneurs. I grew up in a family of entrepreneurs. I have cousins who are entrepreneurs. I’ve learned so much from my Aunts , Uncles & my father’s friends /associates & family. It was always a normal thing for me to be associated with entrepreneurs . My husband and I are business partners and entrepreneurs. It’s made our relationship so much stronger. Before we were engaged or married we had 2 businesses together. I would have to say it’s enhanced our communication skills , trust , believing in each other and marriage overall.

  • Fashion Gxd Magazine :What motivates you?

  • Answer: My husband, carrying on the legacy of my families business , my customers and other entrepreneurs.

Fashion Gxd Magazine: How do you generate new ideas?

  • Answer: Honestly, I pray, a lot . I ask God to give me the vision and to direct our path and businesses , he does just that. I will randomly have ideas & visions , when I have , I execute them & they work . I also study fashion magazines , blogs and pod cast. I gather inspiration from traveling and from the “People In The Pursuit Of Excellence as well.

  • Fashion Gxd Magazine : What sacrifices have you had to make to be a successful entrepreneur?

  • Answer: I think the largest sacrifice is living in between two cities running businesses. My father passed away in 2016 , my husband and I continued his business/legacy in Gary Indiana . We had our own towing service in Indianapolis . We had to make the choice to come to Gary to continue on his business, incorporate our businesses with his & maintain our home in a Indianapolis. It’s a lot , however, we’re growing. God is Good!

  • Fashion Gxd Magazine : Where you see yourself and your business in 10 years? 20 years?

  • Answer Retired. Traveling . Enjoying my husband & my family. Serving my community.
