Fashion Gxd Magazine : How did the idea for your business come about?
Answer:
The idea for my business all started out as a preschooler playing pretend makeup... I’ve always carried a play pocketbook with pretend makeup and real lipgloss. I was totally into dramatic play growing up. My beloved Mom and Great Aunt introduced me to facials, salon dates and keeping myself presentable at all times.
I began to wear makeup for my school’s fashion shows so I started doing freelance work while working paid internships at age 19. I won’t ever forget October 12, 2011 the day it all began, “Amazin Faces By: Tamika B.” I began to start my personal career journey, had a conversation with my Great Aunt who raised me, instilled life long goal setting skills, Which has helped me to become a business owner at the young age of 24! allowed me to use our family home living room as my freelance makeup work station area stepped out on faith, went to social media and posted “Now Booking for Prom clients” received my 1st client, prayed over my business daily for 8 years, while saving any extra money out of my paychecks and freelance work, Reached out to cosmetics vendors inquiring about wholesale pricings , created daily color schemes, digital vision boards and each product I wanted labels along with packaging designs.
. April 19, 2019 I held my Brand Launch Opening for my Online Makeup Boutique (www.amazinfaces.com) / Live Pop Up Shop with supports, local small business owners provided personalized treats to help bring my vision to life. I made all of what I put into the event alone back, Ahh that was a humbling heartfelt feeling of over the years determination. Remind y'all I did this all alone, paid consultants for website help, one brand ambassador and FAITH. At age 26 that moment I knew “Anyone can be Amazin! Before you think about quitting?! Remember why you started. '' Tamika B. (CEO & FOUNDER)
