Fashion Gxd Magazine : How did the idea for your business come about?

Answer:  We love fashion, quality clothing and shopping. We also love to be creative and design. This clothing line took years of thought and preparation. We wanted everyone to feel good wearing the clothing that we designed. We all have that one piece of clothing, that one favorite piece that we can't live without..... We wanted to design clothing that made you excited and feel good putting them on

Fashion Gxd Magazine : How do you find people to bring into your organization that truly care about the organization the way you do?

Answer: The response that we receive from what we post on social media. The social media influencers and YouTubers that are selected to brand our clothing are selected based on how long they have been interacting with us online, their responsiveness to our brand when they contact us and even selected because of their customer loyalty.

Fashion Gxd Magazine : What three pieces of advice would you give to other children  who want to become entrepreneurs?

Answer: 1. Study your craft 2. Know your market 3. Have no fear of failure

Fashion Gxd Magazine :If you had the chance to start your career over again, what would you do differently?

Answer:  If we had an opportunity to start again we wouldn’t change a thing.  All of the experiences that we have had up to this point good or bad have been a major plus and have gotten us to this level. Making a change might be a critical mistake.

Fashion Gxd Magazine :What would you say are the top three skills needed to be a successful entrepreneur ?

Answer: 1. Passion for what you do 2. Originality 3. Patience

Fashion Gxd Magazine :What have been some of your failures, and what have you learned from them? Answer:

We wouldn’t say we have had any failures, we had necessary experiences. We initial tried to make shirts that we thought were trendy in order to keep up with what was hot at the time. We quickly realized that trends change fast. For example the ‘on fleek’ craze didn’t last long, is anyone still wearing a t-shirt that says on fleek; probably not.  Fading trends can become a problem for your business. Your customer is a walking billboard, if you are ‘out dated’ they throw you in the back of the closet never to be seen again by anyone.  Keeping our slogans true to our culture is working for us, it keeps us relevant. We cater to our city with our Detroit Collection and the rest of the world with our Signature Logo Collection.

Fashion Gxd Magazine : How many hours do you work a day on average?

Answer: We work on marketing, research and filling orders at least 12 to 15 hours per day.

Fashion Gxd Magazine :Describe/outline your typical day? Answer:

We first match overnight orders with fulfillment request to make sure every order is being fulfilled properly. Secondly we check on orders that are completed and out for delivery but monitoring the tracking to make sure there are no delivery issues (this happens before the sun comes up) We then read emails and answer questions from customers and potential influencers, we are big on providing excellent customer service. We check stock to insure items on the website are readily available for production. Lastly we select the photos that are going to be marketed on social media for the day. Then we.. Market. Market. Market.

Fashion Gxd Magazine : How has being an entrepreneur affected your family life?

Answer: It has brought us closer. We work as a team. We make decisions together. It’s a true partnership

Fashion Gxd Magazine :What motivates you?

Answer: Family, our son is autistic. It is important for us to teach our daughter and son the importance of entrepreneurship giving them ability to be independent. That is extremely important to us we want them to have a good understanding of the importance of how to run a business. Also giving back to the community. We are a social entrepreneurship and we support by monthly donations the Autism Alliance of Michigan which is an organization that assist families with getting there loved ones with autism the proper resources to help improve their quality of life.  This is a cause that is personal and close to our hearts.

Fashion Gxd Magazine: How do you generate new ideas?

Answer:  It’s instinctive, it’s a feeling. We take an idea, put it into production and if it sparks a certain feeling its right.

Fashion Gxd Magazine : What sacrifices have you had to make to be a successful entrepreneur?

Answer: Time, we don’t get much time to relax.... it’s getting better but it’s hard to find balance and a cut off point, there is always work that needs to be done...

Fashion Gxd Magazine : Where you see yourself and your business in 10 years? 20 years?

Answer: Successfully running multiple brick and mortar store locations alongside the online store.
