FGM: Its an honor to sit down with you all. Tell us a little more about your brand and How you’ve come to this vastly successful peak in your life?
Answer: Thank you for having me. My brand represents myself and
women all around the world with curvy figures. Plus Appeal 15 also specializes in cosmetics and artist management. We work with plus size models, designers, etc. My brand is based out of Columbia, Missouri and we are working very hard to work internationally to expand our brand. I have grown so much as an entrepreneur. I had started from fashion shows to magazine features. I have built my brand via social media and locally.
FGM: Who are the clients/ what are the projects that you most enjoy working on?
Answer: My client is ReaceYung. He is a HIP HOP artist based out of St. Louis, Missouri. He is currently working on his new and upcoming album Heart OF The LOU which will drop later on this fall. Reace is known for his music talents and his flow of lyrics. You can follow him on all social media outlets @ReaceYung.
FGM: How do you feel you make a difference in the world?
Answer: I make a difference in the world because I not only feed people in my community, I feed individuals globally. I enjoy making donations to people that are in need. I am honored to be able to assist with lending someone a helping hand.
Tell us about a time when you showed determination to continue as an entrepreneur. Answer: Determination is not something that is easy for me. I have
I have always been able to show determination in my work because I take risks even though I know that it is not the best choice. I have been so determined to succeed I have rebranded my company 3 different times. I have been determined to get into the fashion world to make my brand one of the top brands in the world. That is my goal. I am determined to succeed FGM: Give me an example of when you worked irregular hours?
Answer: I work irregular hours every single day for over 10 years. Being a mom and working has been the reason I haven't had a normal schedule. It’s a lot of work I must say but my boys give me strength. I may rest a total of 3 to 5 hours a day.
FGM: Being an entrepreneur is a 24/7 job, how did you get ready for that?
Answer: Yes I agree. I had to prepare myself mentally. I had to train my
mind and my body so that I am able to handle anything that may come my way. Being an entrepreneur is a lot of hard work and requires you to be away from family and also cause you to have an irregular lifestyle.
FGM: How did you acquire the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines as an entrepreneur?
Answer: I had to acquire work under pressure when I had to learn to boss up. Meeting
deadlines was something I really struggled with because of my personal life and being an
entrepreneur caused me to fold under pressure. With the assistance from my business
partners assured that I stayed on track and set schedules for me to follow daily. I have gotten
to the point where pressure has been less of an issue for me now.
FGM: What is your favorite inspirational point, place, to develop new brand developments? Answer: My favorite inspirational point is a quote by Alice Walker “ The
most common way people give up their power is by thinking they don’t have any.” My favorite inspirational place is New York City because it has the biggest Fashion brands in the world.
FGM: Which current public figure are you inspired by and appreciate the most?
Answer: I am inspired by Beyonce because she is a woman of many
talents. She also has made a way for women like me and has succeeded in becoming a successful black woman.
FGM: How do you handle stress?
Answer: I handle stress by taking time to myself to rethink strategies. I handle stress by taking time away from work. I like to have time to meditate and read. It gives me a piece of mind.
FGM: What are the three qualities you feel an entrepreneur must have?
Answer: Adaptability, persistence and hard work
Where do you see yourself in 10 years? How do you plan to get there?
Answer: I see myself running a successful business in New York City. I
I also see my brand expanding internationally.
It was a pleasure speaking with you, thank you for joining us.
Answer: Thank you all for having me and my team. We appreciate you all kindly.
