New Jersey native, Rachel Rogers is a Professional Life Coach and entrepreneur. She is the Founder of Successfully Empowered Life Coaching. Successfully Empowered Life Coaching was founded in 2019 after going through an extensive self assessment. Rachel wanted to connect with herself mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually. After finding peace within herself, she became interested in becoming a Life Coach. She often thought about ways to help other women who were in similar situations as her. She always seemed to be the “go-to” person whenever friends, family and even strangers needed advice. However, her self assessment made her vision to help others even more clear. Rachel began taking and completing different courses to receive several certifications to become a Professional Life Coach. She is also very big on the importance of mental health awareness. Due to childhood trauma and other events that have happened in her life including having parent issues, being homeless as a teen/young adult, and dealing with toxic relationships she has been diagnosed with anxiety as well as PTSD.

For years, she had no idea that the symptoms that she was experiencing were related to these issues. Rachel has since found ways to manage her anxiety and PTSD naturally. There were times when she wanted to give up and she felt like there was no way out but instead of giving up she kept on pushing. She wants other women to know that they can also overcome any and all challenges. Now, Rachel dedicates her time to helping and empowering women to live their lives in happiness and peace. Take a look at our exclusive interview with the rising brand, Coach Rodgers.

FGM: It’s an honor to sit down with you all. Tell us a little about your brand and how you've come to this vastly successful peek in your career.

Answer: Thank you, I am honored to be here! I created Successfully Empowered Life Coaching after I did a very powerful self-assessment of my life. During this journey I wanted to figure out who I really was and what my purpose in life was. I decided that I wanted to become a Life Coach in order to help other women who are or were experiencing the similar issues that I had gone through. So many women go through things and they often feel like there is no way out of their current situation, some even feel like they are going through things alone and I just want them to know that’s not the case.

FGM: Who are the clients/what are the projects that you most enjoy working on?

Answer: The majority of my clients are women ranging from 30 years old and up. Some of them are moms who want to find figure out their Life Purpose (job, business, career wise) while being a mom and taking care of their family. Some clients are women who want to work on their Personal Development skills, but they don’t quite know where to start. I also have had clients who need advice on dealing with Toxic Relationships. I honestly enjoy working on every project.

FGM: How do you feel you make a difference in the world?

Answer: I feel like a make a difference in the world by helping women get through certain obstacles that they may be facing. One of the things that I always bring up is that I want to be a support system for women. A lot of women don’t have people that they can talk to when they are going through hard times. I was one of those women that wished I had someone to talk to with an open mind, that wouldn’t judge me. I never had that, and it often made me feel like I was alone which was very discouraging. Therefore, if I can stop someone from feeling the way that I felt by just being there, listening without judgment and giving advice to help them get out of their situation, I’m all for it. That’s my passion.

FGM: Tell us about a time when you showed determination to continue as an entrepreneur

Answer:  I remember being pregnant with my youngest son, while being a stay at home mom of my then 1 year old and 10-year-old. I was homeschooling my 10-year-old and at that time, as well as working from home full time and going to school to get my certification in Business and Entrepreneurship. I was doing all of this while still trying to hold my household down. It was very overwhelming. I remember as it got closer to my due date, I binged on all of my school assignments, tests and quizzes because I knew that once the baby came that time would be scarce. I had been to a couple of colleges before then and unfortunately never went through with it. I was determined to complete it this time. I was so happy when I finally received my certification in Business Administration and Entrepreneurship and to top it off my GPA was 4.0. It was a huge milestone for me.

FGM: Give me the three best qualities of your brand

Answer:  Honesty, Compassion, Trustworthy

FGM: Give me an example of when you worked irregular hours?

Answer:  A few years back I was working two jobs trying to make ends meet the best way that I could. I was working in retail as well at a grocery store. Both jobs hours were very inconsistent. One day I would be at the retail store during the day and the grocery store at night and other days it was the other way around. It was rough, at the time I was also taking buses to get to work and I also had to be available to pick my son up from school. It was extremely hard especially when you don’t have any help from anyone, but I knew that there was a logic behind it and that I would not be doing that for the rest of my life. To be honest, my hours are still irregular at times, however it’s much smoother now being an entrepreneur because I love what I do, and I work for myself.

FGM: Being an entrepreneur is a 24/7 job, how did you get ready for that?

Answer: I honestly, “just did it”! I had to figure out exactly what I wanted out of my life. I was tired of working for people that didn’t value my worth, I was tired of not being able to spend time with my family when I wanted or needed to, I was tired of living paycheck to paycheck and not being able to save funds. I had to change my mindset about how I was going to make it all happen. I had goals in the past that I wanted to achieve but never executed them. I had to think about what I could do differently in order to make my dreams of being an entrepreneur a reality. I came up with a plan, wrote it down in a place where I could see it every single day and I worked on my plans literally every single day. I still do this by the way.

FGM: How did you acquire the ability to work under pressure to beat meet deadlines as an entrepreneur?

Answer:  I recently purchased a planner and I write everything in it! Writing my tasks and goals down really helps me to stay on top of things. I try to make sure I am using my time to be productive, it’s so easy to fall behind when you’re not being productive. For example, I used to get mad at myself sometimes because I would sit down and relax and then find myself scrolling on social media and before you know it an hour has passed that I could have been doing something productive. Also, I try to always make time for myself, even if it’s just 20-30 minutes to just literally breathe and reflect, this definitely makes a difference and prevents me from getting too overwhelmed.

FGM: What is your favorite inspirational point, place, to develop new brand developments?

Answer:  I would have to say my room is my favorite inspirational place to develop new ideas. When I am alone in my room and the kids are sleeping, I put my headphones on and either listen to music or a podcast and the ideas just start flowing.

FGM: Which current public figure, are you inspired by or appreciate the most?

Answer: There’s so many. Michelle Obama, Amanda Seales, Lisa Nicols, Rihanna. I really like Luvvie Ajayi. I listen to her podcast and I watch her YouTube videos, read her blogs, I haven’t read her books yet, but it’s on my to do list. I really like how real she is and it always seems like she’s talking to me directly. It’s like she takes my thoughts and says them out loud. I love her honesty and the fact that she can be funny while being honest. I also am a fan of Madison Jaye. I really started listening to her and watching her videos on YouTube during my self-discovery and a lot of what she was talking about helped me connect with myself and my spirituality.

FGM: How do you handle stress?

Answer:  That’s a great question. I’m a huge believer in music therapy, so I usually throw on my headphones and zone out. Writing helps me get my thoughts out and it also helps me to analyze my feelings. Sometimes I exercise. It depends on the situation. I also think that it’s very important to take care of yourself and have some alone time so you can collect your thoughts and process things. Sometimes it really helps to just disconnect, turn your phone off, be alone in silence and mediate.

FGM: What are the three qualities you feel an entrepreneur must have?

Answer: I feel like an entrepreneur should have determination, persistence, and patience.

FGM:  Where do you see your business in 10 years? How do you plan to get there?

Answer: In 10 years, I see my Life Coaching making a difference in so many women’s lives. As I stated earlier, as of right now my client’s range from 30 years old and up, however, I would like to start working with younger women as well. I feel like if I knew then what I know now, my life might have gone a little smoother. Unfortunately, I didn’t have anyone there for me to give me genuine knowledge without wanting something in return or judging me. With that being said, I would love to mentor young women who are in certain situations. I also want to get into Motivational Speaking, Podcasts, and writing and publishing books. I plan on achieving these goals by continuing to work hard and networking.

I also want everyone to know that I make handmade jewelry which can be found on my website and I also created a course on Udemy called How to Handle Toxic People and Relationships, I am working on a few more courses. The Udemy course can also be found on my website.

FGM: It was a pleasure speaking with you thank you for joining us

Answer: No problem! Thank you so much for having me! I appreciate this opportunity!
