This month we sat down with Strength Fashion. Fashion Gxd Magazine obtained the exclusive story on the Fashion-based brand rise to success. Here’s the exclusive cover interview with the rising brand.
FGM: Its an honor to sit down with you all . Tell us a little about your brand and how you've come to this vastly successful peek in your career .
Innovation, we aren’t attempting to reinvent the wheel. We’re just giving you our creative perspective or expression which ever you’d like to coin it, through fashion. We are the Elephant in the Room and I believe our unique designs and approach to the industry sets Strength Fashion apart. I believe we are where we are at this point in life, because we’re Relentless. Which is another lane I’m creating in the sneaker industry, so stay tuned for Relentless Footwear. I believe this is just the start for us.
FGM: Who are the clients/what are the projects that you most enjoy working on?
I would say every project brings different skill sets within creativity to the forefront. I enjoyed working with Cruch Calhoun (@cruchcalhoun) last fall with his Monarch Merch. Each client and idea I’m used as a conduit to bring to life I enjoy working on. I’m currently working with Hajj Apparel (@hajjapparelllc) who has some dope products getting ready to drop. For example the Relentless Sneaker I designed that’s now in production, I found to be a humbling type of joy if that makes sense.
FGM: How do you feel you make a difference in the world?
Many other brown and dark brown brothers who come from my environment I’m an inspiration to. Yet I know in those same environments lay envy, I want to show them we can all find a lane and make it work and build for our loved ones. Bringing harm to one another isn’t what it’s about, it breeds more pain and destruction.
FGM: Tell us about a time when you showed determination to continue as an entrepreneur.
The daily trials of life when you have mouths to provide for you must remain determined. Or as we call it Relentless, if it were easy everyone would be doing it. The question is how bad you want it, you have to be willing to make sacrifices. It’s really not for the faint at heart.
FGM: Give me the three best qualities of your brand
Quality, Innovation and Durability
FGM: Give me an example of when you worked irregular hours?
At least 3 days a week, I’m very hands on and all designs that come from Strength Fashion is done by me. It’s nights I’d stay up till 4am designing turn around and be up at 6-7am, to handling my daily life responsibilities. As an Owner, Entrepreneur, whatever other terms that call it these days. There’s really no start or finish time, you have to be willing to grind.
FGM: Being a entrepreneur is a 24/7 job, how did you get ready for that?
Honestly this drive has been in me since I can remember. I’ve also developed through different stages and lessons in life. It’s really a mental thing for me, like no one is going to hand it to or do it for me. So I go get it can’t stop, won’t stop.
FGM: How did you acquire the ability to work under pressure to beat meet deadlines as a entrepreneur ? A lot of my disciplines come from growing up in somewhat of a military family. I was into fitness very young which my uncle I looked up to competed in the body building industry. As well as boxing, I believe these practices instilled in me the ability to adapt and thrive under pressure.
FGM: What is your favorite inspirational point, place, to develop new brand developments?
I find inspiration from looking at different forms of art on a canvas. I could see something screenshot it and create a concept of my own from that artwork.
FGM: Which current public figure, are you inspired by or appreciate the most?
I wouldn’t say a public figure is my inspiration honestly. The desire of wanting to set a different narrative for at least my children is my inspiration not particularly a public figure.
FGM: How do you handle stress ?
Prayer, Reading, Writing, Meditation, Cannabis, Working Out, and Cooking
FGM: What are the three qualities you feel an entrepreneur must have ?
Vision, Resources, Ambition
FGM: Where do you see your business in 10 years ?
How do you plan to get there ? Lord willing in ten years Strength Fashion will be a brand that endured and still be striving to leave our influence on fashion.
FGM: It was a pleasure speaking with you thank you for joining us
Thank you for this opportunity, as well as the great hospitality.
