FGM: Who are the clients/what are the projects that you most enjoy working on?
Answer: I absolutely love working with women, but for me it’s the women who put their selves last and finally take that leap and invest in self-care! Their reaction of simply getting eyebrows gives me such a drive and push to keep doing what I do! As a mother of 3 expecting my 4th child I know how hard it is to put ourselves first so when I see another woman do it, its like I become their cheerleader and the moment they look in the mirror we are both over joyed because my clients happiness is my happiness! I must say I also enjoy working on my Cancer Survivors!! They are resilient strong woman and bringing back joy to them after such a hard patch is just so rewarding for me!
FGM: How do you feel you make a difference in the world?
Answer: Wow! I would love to believe I really make a difference in the world! I honestly can only hope I do. I share a lot with my clients and due to child hood traumas I like to bring awareness when I feel its the appropriate client. Many of them thank me for sharing my story so maybe me bringing awareness to childhood trauma and my healing has helped someone and that to me makes a difference even if it’s just one person.
FGM: Tell us about a time when you showed determination to continue as an entrepreneur
Answer: I would say Covid definitely brought out determination in me. In the beginning I was so scared and ready to throw in the towel after almost 4 months of no income due to the regulations and not being deemed essential my business took a big hit! I struggled getting back into my work space and at the time I was working out of two locations so the upkeep of those two locations was draining all my savings but I still had to help feed my family, all while my husband was laid off as well. I learned so much from Covid from doing my accounting the correct way to creating different savings strategies for another rainy day or pandemic! God and determination is the only thing that got me through!
FGM: Give me the three best qualities of your brand
Answer: Integrity, Respect & Quality
FGM: Give me an example of when you worked irregular hours.
Answer: As an Entrepreneur, I feel Like I always work Irregular hours, but if I had to pick a specific time I would say it is when I have come to the shop really late for my students. A lot of my students have 9-5 jobs while trying to get out of it at the same time by taking my course. Many of them find it hard to complete their apprenticeship while juggling, work, kids, home, college, and some who are holding down their entire family and household. For those students I work Irregular hours a lot, I help them complete their hours and apprenticeship on time because their success is my success.
FGM: Being an entrepreneur is a 24/7 job, how did you get ready for that?
Answer: I was not ready! Actually I didn’t even know that aspect of entrepreneurship until I got into it! I didn’t prepare for it, I was forced to figure it out on my own. I do not regret it but I wish I looked more into that and prepared my self better for the 24/7.
FGM: How did you acquire the ability to work under pressure as a entrepreneur ?
Answer: This was something I learned to do with time. Providing a service like Permanent Makeup comes with a lot of pressure! Every stroke, every move, every measurement is crucial to the final result. I literally do not have room for error. What helped me master the ability to work under that pressure was to book enough time between clients and cater entirely to one client at a time. Taking my time and making sure everything is correct before putting that pigment in my client face is my secret!
FGM: What is your favorite inspirational point, place, to develop new brand developments?
Answer: I would say a lot of my creativity comes to me when I am driving. It all hits me while I am in my car which can be very tricky! I have to make sure to remember my thoughts or ideas if I can not write them down right away! I must say though that this year after building a close knit relationship with God, Listening to worship songs inspire me so much! I get so much strength from the lyrics, they literally give me so much energy and push me to develop new brand ideas!
FGM: Which current public figure, are you inspired by or appreciate the most?
Answer: There are quite a few Women and Men that Inspire me and I appreciate them for their transparency! In General, the People who put out their struggles and success stories or journeys inspire me a lot. I get so inspired by people who genuinely show vulnerability and share the good and bad, it makes me feel like I am not alone. A lot of them are not even considered public figures but to me, they are more than that! I love a good success story! It’s super motivational to me.
How do you handle stress?
Answer: This is something I also had to learn after becoming an entrepreneur, I was forced to learn how to de-stress, I am actually still learning, I haven’t mastered it completely! I tend let certain work-related situations keep me up at night. When this happens I recite Psalms 55:22 it works wonders!
FGM: What are the three qualities you feel an entrepreneur must have ?
Answer:
An Entrepreneur should master being A Team Player before building a reputable business with out mastering being a team player you will never be able to build a team devoted to your business!
After that, Integrity & Respect and Determination a must!
FGM: Where do you see your business in 10 years ?How do you plan to get there ?
Answer:
In 10 years I see my business growing, expanding to a another state or states and definitely looking back at how many doors it has opened! I plan on my academy growing to a bigger location and becoming more known and recognized by state boards that will provide funding for students of all walks of life to be able to afford the courses and become their own boss!
FGM: It was a pleasure speaking with you thank you for joining us
Answer: Thank you for having me and for the opportunity! It was an Honor.
