Fashion Gxd Magazine : How did the idea for your business come about?
Tre Taylor : I always been someone that pushed limits on creativity. I don't believe in rules; it's self limiting to have rules. From the books I write to the stage I perform on and so on. I always felt the need to create my own lane. That's what pushed me to discover my talents and create with them. So, I guess you can say it came about when I decided to stop fearing the " What if''s?".
Fashion Gxd Magazine : How do you find people to bring into your organization that truly care about the organization the way you do?
Tre Taylor : Passion. People that do things not for the dollar sign but because they eat, breathe and live it. I love talking to upcoming artists because they have that light in them. This light that says I will win in the end.
Fashion Gxd Magazine : What three pieces of advice would you give to college students who want to become entrepreneurs?
Tre Taylor . If you keep feeling like you don't belong, leave. Because the more you stay somewhere that you don't belong then you'll hinder your dreams from coming true. 2. Everyone isn't going to understand what your called to do in life. And that's okay, show them. 3. Be yourself in every fiber of your being. Because people will connect more with a human than a robot.
Fashion Gxd Magazine :If you had the chance to start your career over again, what would you do differently?
Tre Taylor : Nothing. Everything I've done up to this point has helped me become a better artist.
Fashion Gxd Magazine :What would you say are the top three skills needed to be a successful entrepreneur?
Tre Taylor : 1. Being able to listen. 2. Being able to make a way when there's " no way". 3. Trusting in your craft and being confident that you'll do well.
Fashion Gxd Magazine :What have been some of your failures, and what have you learned from them?
Tre Taylor : Being afraid at certain times or not so confident in my work. I learn that I have everything I need, the tools here are to help build the way. And work didn't seek me, I sought it.
Fashion Gxd Magazine : How many hours do you work a day on average?
Tre Taylor : Depends on what I'm doing. If I'm working on my book or preparing for a shoot or writing a song.. etc. I would say a good 3-4 hours. But then again I really don't ever stop working. Life is work and we must create as much as we can.
Fashion Gxd Magazine :Describe/outline your typical day?
Tre Taylor : Hmm- After getting myself together I attend business meetings or answer emails. Turn my laptop on so I can start working on my book or grab my pad of paper and start writing a song. It all depends on what's happening and what's coming up. My day depends on that for direction( work wise.).
Fashion Gxd Magazine : How has being an entrepreneur affected your family life?
Tre Taylor : Time is everything to me. So I don't like to waste it and sometimes I don't have time for " family" time because I'm working on something important to my career. Everything in life has a cause and affect but I think it'll all be worth it. When I'm able to buy my mom a house and my younger siblings are able to have the " choice" to go to college or not. That's important to me.
Fashion Gxd Magazine :What motivates you?
Tre Taylor : Intelligence next to ART. You have to be smart to get into the business and truly run a business. Your talents are your tools to do so and I feel like if your smart with it, you'll win. I wanna learn as I grow as an artist and that motivates me so much.
Fashion Gxd Magazine:How do you generate new ideas?
Tre Taylor : I really don't know. Ideas just come to me all together or all in pieces. Once I start a project I start to find the missing pieces. My brain runs 24/7 so that also has a lot to do with the creation process.
Fashion Gxd Magazine : What sacrifices have you had to make to be a successful entrepreneur?
:Tre Taylor Hmm- Being careless at my age range. And when I mean careless like making mistakes and learning from them. But for me I'm pretty hard on myself and I tell myself that I have a family to feed; so I can't be stupid. I must work, grow and learn without all the extra stuff. So, I guess my freedom to make mistakes without having it fall down on others.
Fashion Gxd Magazine : Where you see yourself and your business in 10 years? 20 years?
Tre Taylor : A mogul. Someone with a few companies under my belt and an artistic career. Inspiring boys like me to believe in ourselves and create from our minds. No limitations in mind, just someone playing with all the colors in life. That's my job as an artist. And I'm going to do it; God has me. Thank you for having me!
