Fashion Gxd Magazine : How did the idea for your business come about?
Qveens Divine (CEO): The way that the idea for my business came about was I’ve always wanted to be my own boss. I never liked living according to others’ schedules. I liked to do things my way and I always wanted to get into the business world. I share about God and inspirational messages across my social media platforms so the summer of 2017, I came up with the idea to incorporate the two into one idea: An online clothing store dedicated to inspiring others.
Fashion Gxd Magazine : How do you find people to bring into your organization that truly care about the organization the way you do?
Qveens Divine (CEO):Three pieces of advice I would give to those who want to become entrepreneurs is one: Stay consistent. If you have an idea, put your mind to it and let nothing or no one get in the way of it. Two: Take risks. Scared money don’t make money! Three: Believe in yourself & stay positive. The thoughts you decide to entertain can make or break your business so feed your soul positivity & ask God for guidance.
Fashion Gxd Magazine :If you had the chance to start your career over again, what would you do differently?
Qveens Divine (CEO): If I had a chance to start my career over again, I personally wouldn’t do anything differently. I am a firm believer that God allows for certain things to happen and the things that have happened in my life has led me to be where and who I am today.
Fashion Gxd Magazine :What would you say are the top three skills needed to be a successful entrepreneur ?
Qveens Divine (CEO): The top three skills I would say is a necessity to become a successful entrepreneur is having ambition, willingness to learn & your ability to listen.
Fashion Gxd Magazine :What have been some of your failures, and what have you learned from them?
Qveens Divine (CEO): One of the biggest failures I have encountered in my time of being a business owner is putting my trust in the wrong people. It has costed me my time and money. I learned very quickly that not everyone wants what’s best for you neither do they want to help you.
Fashion Gxd Magazine : How many hours do you work a day on average?
Qveens Divine (CEO): I put in an average of 14 hours towards my business a day.
Fashion Gxd Magazine :Describe/outline your typical day?
Qveens Divine (CEO): My typical day consists of dance, handling business needs, work, writing raps & making motivational videos.
Fashion Gxd Magazine : How has being an entrepreneur affected your family life?
Qveens Divine (CEO):Being an entrepreneur has not affected my family life. I’m not close with my family so I just handle everything privately. Find two - three friends that supports your business. That’s something that meant a lot to me. Not having family support really hurt me in many different ways so surround yourself with people who shows their love and support for you.
Fashion Gxd Magazine :What motivates you?
Qveens Divine (CEO):Two things that motivates me most is one, my nephew Aiden. He is the reason I breathe and do what I do today. He’s literally my biggest fan. Two, is seeing how much of a difference I make in other people’s lives and how I want to continue doing so.
Fashion Gxd Magazine: How do you generate new ideas?
Qveens Divine (CEO): All ideas for my business comes from God Himself.
Fashion Gxd Magazine: How do you generate new ideas?
Qveens Divine (CEO): Some sacrifices I have made to become a successful business owner is one, my time. I’ve acquired three jobs since becoming a business owner so that I could support myself financially. Also friends. Not a lot of people understand that owning a business requires a lot of time. They don’t understand that I no longer I have time to text or hang out all the time.
Fashion Gxd Magazine : Where you see yourself and your business in 10 years? 20 years?
Qveens Divine (CEO): I see my business in 10-20 years being known by millions of people and my merchandise being worn by celebrities and possibly have a physical store and maybe 2-5 employees. I see myself being a successful business owner as well as a professional dancer and a famous motivational speaker and being featured in a movie or two.
