Fashion Gxd Magazine : How did the idea for your business come about?
SheSheWorld : Honestly I really didn't want to do hair. I did not have a job or any help in 2013, but people always asked me about my hair and what I was using to make it grow thick and long. I finally gave in and took one person and it grew from there.
Fashion Gxd Magazine : How do you find people to bring into your organization that truly care about the organization the way you do?
SSW: I don't, they find me. My talent speaks volumes. I pray and seek God and tell him what I want. I focus on doing what is right, and how to make every situation better. That way they see me walking and talking also living out what I represent.
Fashion Gxd Magazine : What three pieces of advice would you give to other children who want to become entrepreneurs?
SSW: 1.) Pray and seek God first
2.) Follow your own heart and not someone else desire for your life
3.) Believe!!! BELIEVE in yourself. Keep moving know matter what. And just do it(whatever you already know you can do)
Fashion Gxd Magazine :If you had the chance to start your career over again, what would you do differently?
SSW: Nothing, because I had to go through in order to learn some things and be able to let people and things go that wasn't for me. Plus it also lead me to this opportunity.
Fashion Gxd Magazine :What would you say are the top three skills needed to be a successful entrepreneur ?
SSW: Patients,Persistence,and Determination
Fashion Gxd Magazine :What have been some of your failures, and what have you learned from them?
SSW: Believing I couldn't do something because of what someone else said I could not do. I learned that I could do anything that I put my mind to with prayer. And not allowing what someone say or do to me to hinder what I am trying to accomplish. Getting rid of self taught HATE and self doubt. Allowing myself to grow with every step that I take. By allowing the hurt and pain to make me the woman that I am at present time, because I am still evolving into something amazing.
Fashion Gxd Magazine : How many hours do you work a day on average?
SSW: To me 24hrs LOL( but 16-18 hrs)
Fashion Gxd Magazine :Describe/outline your typical day?
SSW: My day starts at 4:30 am prayer or reading the Bible its probably 5:30 am after that its time to wake my smallest two up and start there morning routine. I can't find my socks or he or she hide my phone. LOL She brushed her teeth with my toothbrush, if he lie on me one more time I will slap him LOL, 6:50 am DROP them off and get on my bike an start my bike ride (morning breather) 7:30am wake up my oldest two up with breakfast and start there homeschooling studies. Wash up. 8:15 am start inventory check emails send out packages, place labels on jars fill jars and then start my first client at 9:00 work until 2:00 pm get ready for pick up. Then get them ready for there activities and homework. Start back doing hair until the last client leaves(my husband takes care of the cooking and the laundry)and he usually takes over with everything else also.
Fashion Gxd Magazine : How has being an entrepreneur affected your family life?
SSW: For the most part we have learned how to work together, we are connected as a whole now because we learned that it takes everyone to do there part in order for everything to flow the right way and no one feels or gets overwhelmed with life everyday tasks.
Fashion Gxd Magazine :What motivates you?
SSW: I am inspired by the homeless because we are one mistake away from where they are. They are amazing people that had a lot of mistakes that got them where they are at the present time. Just knowing that at anytime of my life I could have took the wrong path or loss someone or something that can place me in there present situation.
Fashion Gxd Magazine: How do you generate new ideas?
SSW: They just come to me. LOL. I am a firm believer that if you allow God to do his job your job will be easy. With that being said he gives us what our heart desires. So if anything good comes to me its from him.
Fashion Gxd Magazine : What sacrifices have you had to make to be a successful entrepreneur?
SSW: Separating myself from everybody(so called friends, and family) that did not want me to have
Fashion Gxd Magazine : What sacrifices have you had to make to be a successful entrepreneur?
SSW: Giving up shopping for myself and my kids
Learning how to live on a budget($30 for groceries a week)
Shopping at the Dollar Tree because everything was $1( The best thing that could have ever done)
Fashion Gxd Magazine : Where you see yourself and your business in 10 years? 20 years?
SSW: I can’t imagine what God has planned for my life. But I do want to travel the world and empower people to step out on there dreams. And FOCUS on re- building themselves up while building there empire . Walking through the process and remaining humble. Accepting things as they come but being able to turn every situation into a positive outcome. Meaning allow your hurt, pain, frustration and misunderstandings to shape you into what people said you will never become. Using it as building materials for your development. That's how you get your HATERS to work for you as your intern because they do work for free. THEY LABORED BUT DIDN’T GET PAID.
