FGM: It’s an honor to sit down with you . Tell us a little about your brand and how you have come to this vastly successful peek in your career .
Answer: I am the proud owner of three cherished conglomerates, NonProfit CEO Summit, Uncommon Courage, and the nationally respected headliner; Success Women's Conference. All these ventures are centered around, the principle of giving back. Your NonProfit CEO Summit is a resource and consulting brand for clients who need the tools necessary to fund their vision. Uncommon Courage is a multifaceted brand centralized around faith, women, and leadership. I have enjoyed substantial success from its creation, including becoming an International Best-Selling Author, through the formation of branded anthology, Leading with Uncommon Courage. I and several other female co-authors joined together to share stories of God’s ability to shine through us when we are willing to display uncommon courage. Lastly, the Success Women’s Conference, by which I co-own with two amazing women; Dorothy Wilson and Kearn Cherry; is an annual women’s conference jampacked with hundreds of women each year, headlined by some of the most respected names in media, business, and philanthropy; names such as Iyanla Vanzant, Les Brown, and Forbes Riley , and many more; have all taken the stage each year to give their best advice, networking tips, and leads to a group of successful business women, from all over the country. The conference is one of the biggest in the nation and has been covered by media giants such as Essence Magazine, and more. Its pretty big for the Gulf Coast.
FGM: Who are the clients/what are the projects that you most enjoy working on?
Answer: The clients that I enjoy serving the most are found in the nest of women. Whether it is in platform creation for entrepreneurs; or even if it is as simple as advice, I feel mandated to assist women from all aspects of life. I almost feel responsible for women. I feel as if, I would not be in the place I am in today, if it had not been for a circle of women, cheering me along my journey. In turn, I am committed to doing the same for other women.
FGM: How do you feel you make a difference in the world?
Answer: Resourcing. I love to aid people in finding the best suitor to provide a need for their business. If I can help someone find their needs met, then I feel I have done the best job I can in life.
FGM: Tell us about a time when you showed determination to continue as an entrepreneur
Answer: There is no time. There is only choice, and honestly, I make that choice every day. Once you give your purpose; a sincere YES; you show up with that intent every day.
FGM: Give me the three best qualities of your brand
Answer: From the genesis of my branding, I have kept success quality, reliability, and resourcing as the most prominent qualities of what I do. Making sure I educate myself enough to relay outcomes that are most beneficial toward my clients, are the staples of my brand. Remaining reliable and resourceful, motivates my clients to not only succeed, but to return to the table with me, with more clients.
FGM: Give me an example of when you worked irregular hours?
Answer: I always do! However, this realization more than anything I know, solidifies that I am in fact, an entrepreneur; always willing to go the extra mile to get things done.
FGM: Being an entrepreneur is a 24/7 job, how did you get ready for that?
Answer: Acceptance. I had to center myself in order to understand that entrepreneurship was in fact, what I was meant to do. Having had an outstanding career in organizational leadership and nonprofit consulting, I was already primed for the decision. I just had to align with what I already knew and once I did that. I was clear that this was my truest path.
FGM: How did you acquire the ability to work under pressure to beat meet deadlines as an entrepreneur ?
Answer: Necessity. Because I run a needs-based business that is responsible for the lives of so many, I am motivated by the simplicity of knowing that I know what I am creating for those in need; is necessary. In a generation so infatuated with clout, I have come to remain more disciplined by the space of servant leadership inside of my business.
FGM: What is your favorite inspirational point, place, to develop new brand developments?
Answer: Somewhere between my car and my bedroom…lol. I believe that the sense of privacy and aloneness seem to find me in those two spaces. No one can bother me there. When I need to think most, I do so in my bedroom. When I need to get things accomplished, it is in my car.
FGM: Which current public figure, are you inspired by or appreciate the most?
Answer: Harriet Tubman. Her tenacity and bravery to become the hero for so many people; is something I will never forget.
How do you handle stress ?
Answer: I often process my stressors by awareness. The first space to resolve stress is admission. So, whether I notice a sharp tone, or brain fog; I make it my business to watch the changes in my communication and emotions. Once I feel intrinsically that I could be experiencing stress, I submit to prayer, spending time with family, or calling a close friend. I take a break. Breaks are essential to success.
FGM: What are the three qualities you feel an entrepreneur must have ?
Answer: Instinct. Vision. Accountability. You must trust your instinct when it comes to entrepreneurship. Be led by God’s voice in order to best shift you to your most desired place. Entrepreneurs must also understand that their product is creating a solution, and that the solution must come with a vision. Surrounding yourself with people and partners that hold you accountable, will best surrender you to the completion of your vision.
FGM: Where do you see your business in 10 years ?How do you plan to get there ?
Answer: In the next 10 years, I see myself as one, who would have created a credible space for visionaries and non-profit organizers to expound, explore, and successfully establish their ventures. Id like to have created a thriving business conglomerate, nonprofit consulting brand, and resource hub for those in need of the education, funding, acumen, and encouragement; that it takes to establish their vision.
FGM: It was a pleasure speaking with you thank you for joining us
Answer: Likewise. Thank You for all that you offer to the community of visionaries and entrepreneurs.
