FGM: It's an honor to sit down with you all. Tell us a little about your brand. How do you feel you make a difference in the world?
Javonte Marqui$: I feel that I make a difference in the world because I am a cancer survivor. I am a living testimony that you can overcome this. I am also a natural-born leader. I don’t need to follow trends or anyone. I know that I influence people to be themselves and I motivate people to be better.
FGM: Tell us about a time when you showed determination to continue as a music artist?
Javonte Marqui$: I show determination every single day of my life because music is my life and my passion. It’s what I do, it’s what I love to do, and have the mindset to continue to do. I’m not going to stop making music. I am the definition of determination and music is what I was born to do.
FGM: Being a music artist is a 24/7 job, how did you get ready for that?
Javonte Marqui$: When you were destined to do something you just do it and don’t have to get ready for it. Music is me. Music is my life. Music is first nature. I am always ready and prepared for anything when it comes to music. I’m always writing music or in the studio.
How do you handle stress?
Javonte Marqui$: By indulging in cannabis, of course only in the states that are legal. I sip 1738, I write music, and hang out with pretty women. These all lower stress levels. I also talk and spend time with my mom and grandmother and the homies. That all helps my stress.
FGM: What are the three qualities you feel a music artist must have?
Javonte Marqui$: Determination, Persistence, and Consistency. If you have those three things you will be successful in the music business.
FGM: Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
Javonte Marqui$: I will be 39 going on 40. I will be retired, established, and a brand that everyone knows and loves.
